Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you join WalkOn, we collect the information you provide during the application: your name, e-mail, date of birth, city and country, languages, profession, profile photo, bio, interests, professional talents, and household details (cohabitants and pets). We also store the invite code that brought you in and the membership of the inviter.

2. Why we collect it

• To run the curation review that decides whether to admit you to the community.
• To present an accurate profile to other approved members so they can host or be hosted.
• To uphold the safety guarantees of a private peer-to-peer hospitality network.
• To send transactional e-mails about your application status (approval/rejection).

3. Who can see what

Household details (cohabitants and pets) are private and visible only to our curation team. The rest of your profile becomes visible to other approved members after you are admitted. Your e-mail and date of birth are never shown publicly.

4. Your rights (GDPR/LGPD)

• Withdraw your application at any time before approval — your profile, household details, and review entry are permanently deleted via the “Cancel my application” action on the welcome page.
• Access, export, or delete your data after approval by writing to privacy@walkon.app. Requests are answered within 30 days.
• Waitlist removal: to remove your data from the waitlist, write to privacy@walkon.app — we will process your request within 30 days.
• Withdraw consent for non-essential cookies and analytics in the cookie banner.

5. Storage and retention

Profile data is stored on Supabase (EU region) under Row Level Security policies that isolate each member's data. Profile photos live in a private object store with short-lived signed URLs. Audit records of administrative actions are retained for as long as your membership is active and 1 year thereafter.

6. Third parties we work with

• Supabase — database, authentication, storage.
• Resend — transactional e-mail delivery (approval, rejection).
• Sentry — error monitoring with PII redaction at source.
• Vercel / Firebase Hosting — static and edge delivery.
